Storage & Privacy
Protecting biometric and pattern data is the foundation of Solident. Our design ensures that sensitive information is never exposed, never stored in raw form, and always under the user’s control.
"The safest data is the data no one else can see."
1. Encrypted biometric templates
The system stores only encrypted templates, not raw face images or videos.
Templates are generated locally and cannot be reconstructed into a real face.
Every template is salted and encrypted before leaving the device.
2. Pattern hash storage
User patterns are never stored directly.
Instead, each pattern is converted into a hashed sequence.
The system only verifies the hash, making it impossible to reverse-engineer the actual pattern.
Privacy is preserved not by hiding data, but by rendering it useless to anyone else.
3. User-held encryption keys
All encryption keys are owned and controlled by the user.
Keys can be secured through hardware enclaves, secure elements, or recovery backups.
Without the user’s key, biometric templates and pattern hashes are meaningless.
4. Decentralized storage options
Encrypted templates can be stored in decentralized systems such as IPFS or Arweave for permanence.
Hash proofs can be anchored on-chain for integrity verification without exposing sensitive data.
This approach combines decentralization with privacy-first security.
5. Recovery without exposure
A recovery key or offline backup can restore access if a device is lost or replaced.
Recovery never involves sharing raw biometrics.
The system guarantees that only the rightful owner can reinitialize their identity.
The privacy guarantee
No raw biometrics ever stored.
No pattern saved in plain text.
No third-party access to encryption keys.
Full control stays with the user.
Solident treats identity as yours alone. Private, permanent, and protected.
